Epson WorkForce DS-510 Color Document Scanner: Overview
The WorkForce DS-510 Color Document is smaller, cheaper, and slower – but only capable of doing the same scanner. The WorkForce DS-510 Document Scanner is that most of the components involved the scanner hardware itself, the on-board software, and the bundled optics for character recognition, or OCR, and other software utilities.
As a document scanner, one measures 11.7 inches wide, by 6 inches, by 6.1 inches high, and weighs a meager 5.5 pounds. An automatic 50-sheet (single-pass) duplex, or ADF, feeds the scanner at a rate of about 25 pages per minute, or ppm.
The Epson WF DS-510 scans at 300 dots per inch 26 pages per minute, or ppm, simplex (single-sided) or 52 images per minute, or ipm, duplex, or two-sided.
Apart from being quite fast, this scanner and bundled software are very accurate. The scanner’s default resolution is 600 dpi per inch (dpi); when I set the dpi to 300, which is quite a lot for document scanning, it scans a little faster.
The ADF is “single-pass,” meaning that it has two scanning mechanisms, one for each side of the paper, a much faster method, and scans sheets up to 36 inches long.
